Fed could hold interest rates near zero for years
The Federal Reserve will keep its key interest rates close to zero until inflation exceeds its 2% target, something most Fed board members do not expect to happen before 2023. “Effectively what we are saying is that rates will remain highly accommodative until the economy is far along in its recovery,” Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced.
